Youth Mentors from the Hoop Dreaming Project joined thousands of local Cairns residents in the Cairns Cancer Crusade Charity Walk.  Starting at Fogarty Park on the Esplanade, the HDP crew endeavored on the 5km trek to help raise funds for COUCH.  COUCH is aiming to raise enough funds to provide a fully equipped Oncology Unit in Cairns.

“It’s a great initiative and we are proud to be support it.”  Hoop Dreaming Project Director Joel Khalu said.  “We have had some dear friends from the Cairns Basketball family affected by Cancer so whatever we can do to help out we are happy to contribute.”

In hot conditions it took the HDP crew a few ticks over 90 minutes to finish the 5km journey.
